La Colombaia
Our farm lies in a peaceful and scenic country setting among sunflower and wheat fields. Around here, it is quite common to come across pheasants, deer, squirrels, hares and other wildlife.

In fact, the whole area boasts a unique blend of nature and rich cultural heritage.

Farm accommodation
The old restored farmhouse has been divided into four fully independent and tastefully furnished apartments on two levels for guest accommodation, ranging in size from 70 to 100 sq. mt.

Three of them have two bathrooms, and they are suitable for wheelchair access. The surrounding fields and meadows are perfect for a relaxing stroll or a picnic, and children love to watch and meet our animals.


The working farm
At La Colombaia, whose farm covers an area of 200 hectares, our family grows organic crops of cereals, including spelt.

We also raise several breeds of poultry on natural feed, as well as rearing horses, donkeys, sheep of the 'Apennine' variety, ‘cinta senese’ pigs and ‘chianina’ cows and calves.

Our family lives at the heart of the property. We shall be delighted to assist you with all the information you may need, and contribute to make your holiday a pleasant experience.
We are also available to take you on guided tours of the farm, if you like. Your pets are welcome by prior arrangement, and there is ample private parking for visitors' cars.

- Unit no. 2: kitchen, living room with fireplace and tv, plus 1 bathroom on the ground floor; 2 bedrooms, another bathroom and mezzanine on the first floor.

- Unit no. 3: kitchen, living room with tv, bathroom and 2 bedrooms on the ground floor; 2 bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor.

- Unit no. 4: living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor; 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the first floor.


Where we are
La Colombaia is just 2 km from Vicchio di Mugello, in a rural hamlet of about ten houses called Pesciola. We are within easy reach of Florence, Faenza and Ravenna.

The railway station and sports facilities of Vicchio (swimming pool, tennis lawn and fishing/rowing lake) are just 3 km from the farm.

The neighbourhood
The panoramic and quiet roads that surround this spot allure anyone to relaxing walks and to bike or horse rides. La Colombaia is located along the road to Vespignano, where art lovers will not want to miss Giotto's birthplace.

Nearby, the Ragnaia stream is crossed by a bridge in whose vicinity it is said that Giotto was pasturing his flock and tracing on a stone the rustic portrait of one of his sheep when he was spotted by Cimabue who immediately wanted him as his apprentice in Florence.
