Sanvitale holiday farm
At Luco di Mugello, Agriturismo Sanvitale is a family-run
certified organic farm offering quality tourist accommodation.
The tranquillity of the house and the beauty of its setting ensure
a revitalizing and peaceful holiday for couples, families and parties
of friends, who often become regular guests.
Agritourism
Anna Maria and Federico take pride and care in welcoming their guests
in person with courtesy and care, in order to make their stay in
Mugello as pleasant as possible.
The estate consists of the main farm and an adjoining stone barn,
recently renovated throughout with natural building materials such
as wood, traditional terracotta tiles and 'pietra serena' (the highly-prized
local grey sandstone) and in full compliance with the dictates of
building ecology and green architecture. To ensure a healthy night's
sleep, we have chosen high quality slatted beds and latex foam mattresses
for our guest rooms.
Tourist
accommodation
Our renovated barn houses six double and two single bedrooms, all
different in size and fittings.
The 8 ensuite rooms with central heating can accommodate up to 14
guests, who can also make themselves at home in the cozy lounge
and the large well groomed garden.
Our visitor areas are suitable for wheelchair and disabled access,
and there is plenty of parking space on private ground.
Home made meals
Our
prices include a buffet breakfast of the typical food of the area:
home-baked bread, cakes, sweets and biscuits made from our own organic
flours, meals and preserves.
By arrangement, we also serve a set-price mouth watering Tuscan
evening meal with traditional dishes and vegetarian dainties in
our welcoming dining room. A typical dinner starts with appetizers
and ends with desserts; only drinks are charged extra.
The farm
Our farm is a family business called Podere Macerata and we take
pride and care in running it with organic methods respectful of
the natural environment.
We produce and process honey, olives, vegetables, fruit and PGI
Mugello chestnuts.
The most striking feature of our estate is the variety of crops
and landscape: meadows, pasture land, plough, chestnut woods, olive
groves, raspberry brambles, orchards, vegetable patches, beehives
and oak forests. The reception area also operates a store selling
our organic farm produce, and we are pleased to organize cooking
classes and visits to the chestnut woods and to the workshop where
our honey and preserves are processed and packaged.

Where we are
Agriturismo Sanvitale stands at an altitude of 380 metres above
sea level near and is surrounded by meadows, fields, chestnut and
oak woods, with a pleasantly fresh climate even in the height of
summer.
Luco di Mugello is a village in the municipality of Borgo San Lorenzo
in northern Tuscany, and it lies at about the same distance between
the towns of Borgo, San Piero a Sieve and Scarperia. Florence is
some 35 Km to the south and easily reached by the A1 motorway or
by any of two scenic state roads, the Bolognese and the Faentina.
The neighbourhood
The area is particularly suitable for rambles on foot, by bike and
on horseback. Several marked hiking tracks and a botanic
itinerary will help you discover the countryside and its
rural traditions. In the vicinity of Sanvitale you will also find
stables to visit, for the delight of both children and grown-ups.
