At the holiday farms and bed & breakfasts of the Terre di Mugello network you will be able to taste mouth-watering, home-cooked tuscan cuisine (LINK) such as ribollita (a thick vegetable and bread soup) or the local tortelli with potato filling. You won't easily forget a Florentine-style beef steak barbecued on glowing embers and washed down with Chianti wine and a good chat, at peace with yourselves, with nature and with time, re-discovering the forgotten pleasures of colours, smells, tastes and amiable companionship.
Wine of grapes and bread from the oven
When staying on our farms, everyone – but especially city families with small children – will be thrilled to discover an open window on the countryside and its genuine produce: fruit picked daily from the orchard, vegetables ripened to perfection in our very own back garden, home-made 'wine of grapes' (as we jokingly call it as opposed to its bought-from-the-shops counterpart...), freshly baked bread, preserves tasting of ripe fruit, sweet-smelling honey bearing the multifold scent of the flowers in our woods.
Holiday Farm accommodation
The lawful Italian definition of 'agritourism' is tourist accommodation on working farms. Accommodation on our holiday farms is provided in a choice of rooms and self-contained units, and offers a unique opportunity to find one's energies regenerated through nature, rediscovering the forgotten pleasure of peaceful sleeping and quiet country nights with starry skies, crickets singing, the scent of grass. Our farmsteads overlook landscapes of major natural beauty which offer to the traveler peace, serenity and rest as well as the opportunity to come into contact with the Tuscan countryside, its traditions, products (LINK) and people.
Bed & Breakfast accommodation
An ever growing number of travelers prefer bed-and-breakfast accommodation to traditional hotels and even more so to hotel chains, because home hospitality offers informal accommodation in non-standard rooms in 'real' houses, lived-in by 'real' people. Pleasing decoration, cleanliness, comfort, good amenities and a rich traditional home made morning meal: the bed-and-breakfast philosophy perfectly matches the Terre di Mugello guidelines of quality, expertise, commitment and care for guests, who are welcome to share the homes we live in and enjoy opening to new friends.

seal of qualityAll our holiday farms and bed & breakfasts are lawfully licensed to provide tourist accommodation services. The tourist department of our Mountain Community Council (Comunità Montana del Mugello) has devised a round ceramic plate with blue lozenge on a white backround, bearing the name “Mugello” in blue and the name of the facility in blue and gold.
Such sign identifies any and all licensed tourist accommodation businesses in the Mugello area and acts as a seal of quality for visitors. The plate was designed by a local artist, Giulia Pasquini, and was inspired by an ancient medieval tile of the Romanesque baptismal font in the Faltona church near Borgo San Lorenzo.
