A variety of traditional fairs and markets marks the changing seasons
in the Mugello area, selling the local agricultural produce and
crafts typical of that time of the year and displaying anything
from the milk and meat cattle breeds to the sheep and their excellent
pecorino cheese, from the celebrated PGI Mugello chestnut and white
truffle to the Scarpetria knives and Firenzuola hand-carved stone
items...
Antiques, crafts and second-hand market
Dicomano, all year, 3rd Sunday of each month
Exhibition and sale of crafts, second hand, antique and collector's
items.
Mugello Savours and Colours
Vicchio di Mugello, March through September, 4th Sunday
of each month
The arcades of piazza della Vittoria host all the genuine produce
and typical food of the Mugello countryside as well as the best
local handicrafts.
Wine and Food Festival
Scarperia, 1st weekend in April
The historic setting of the Vicari palace, hosts a lively market
of local specialities from selected Mugello producers of dairy products,
olive oil, wine, honey, wild berries and mushrooms, cured meats
and salami, Tuscan bread and much more.
National
exhibition of the Romagnola cattle breed
Piancaldoli (Firenzuola), last weekend in April
Interregional cattle fair of the Romagnola breed with gastronomic
stalls and market of local agricultural produce.
Ruralia
Pratolino (Vaglia), last weekend in May
The Villa Demidoff park at Pratolino has been hosting for over a
decade this festival celebrating the Florentine countryside and
country living: agricultural, hunting and environmental organizations
introduce themselves and their activities to the city crowds.
Mugello Agricultural Fair
Borgo San Lorenzo, 2nd week in June
Between Thursday and Sunday, the Foro Boario hosts a major agricultural
fair and cattle market.

Blades Fair and Market
Scarperia, June to mid-September
Exhibition and sale of knives, cutlery, scissors, cutting blades,
wrought iron.
Market of Apennine typical produce
Palazzuolo sul Senio, Sundays in June
Exhibition and sale of organic produce from the Mugello farms.
Trebbio little Fair
S. Piero a Sieve, 1st or 2nd weekend in July
The local gastronomy and crafts come on show in the charming setting
of the historic gardens of the Trebbio Medici castle, where Giovanni
dalle Bande Nere dwelled.
Vicchio in Fair: MAZE and Hot Fayre
Vicchio, about 10 days between late August and early September
M.A.Z.E. is a craft show where the Mugello and Sieve valley producers
and artisans come to display and sell their leather and ceramic
items, local food produce and much else. The 'Hot Fayre' includes
a cattle, sheep and horse fair at Ponte a Vicchio and the Fair of
the 4 A's (artisan crafts, agriculture, art and antiques) in Piazza
della Vittoria at Vicchio.
From the Woods and the Stone
Firenzuola, 2nd and 3rd weekends in October
Mugello PGI chestnuts and related produce, handicraft market and
grey sandstone handmade products.
White Truffle market
Borgo San Lorenzo, 3rd weekend in November
While Villa Pecori Giraldi hosts the Mugello White Truffle Trade
Fair, the local restaurants join in the celebrations and offer heavenly
tastings of truffle-based dishes.
Christmas Markets
Marradi, 1st and 2nd Sundays in December
The old town centre of Marradi decks itself out for the festive
season and hosts a colourful Christmas market with stalls selling
a variety of gifts, toys and Christmas decorations. A favourite
with children is Santa's sledge driving visitors around the town.
